POLINSKI
65daysofstatic's Paul Wolinski, a man with 'a laptop, some synths and a plan' is promoting his album Labyrinths, out on 31 October 2011 on Monotreme Records. He makes big dance tunes described as 'the sound of software catching up with what the mind is capable of, the simple joy of the back of a van and a laptop, an airport lounge and a head between timezones, lightspeed drifting between futures, the futures we glimpse out of the window of the flimsy vessels we trust our lives to, the futures we dream of in the hotel room after one too many in-flight drinks-in-the-sky'. Not to be missed.
1877
1877 are a four-piece alternative electronic rock band from Aylesbury. The new-wave, industrial influence on their sound is shrouded beneath dense layers of effects pedals, circuit-bent Casio and Yamaha keyboards, samplers, drum machines and lap-tops. 1877 are an unapologetically intense soundscape of motorik drone, whip-snapping electro drive and rumbling, monochrome vocals. They create repetitive, tuneful dirges that explode into frustration and paranoid atmospherics via stories of irresponsible adolescence.
