Shoes and Socks Off /
Headlining the show is Shoes and Socks Off - also known as Toby Hayes, formerly of Meet Me In St Louis and Shield Your Eyes. Having released his debut album From the Muddy Banks of the Melitzer through DIY indie label Big Scary Monsters back in September 2008, Shoes And Socks Off has been somewhat of a secret gem, known only to those who have been to the gigs and who actively seek out the music. Where many try and fail in a vain attempt to appear soulful, each one of his songs exudes poetic character effortlessly. Toby has a naturally mysterious and dark quality where each note seems to come from deep inside to mean something; naturally captivating a room with the genuine depth in every track. There’s no pomp or ceremony here, and none required. Some people are just meant to write and play music.
Bear Cavalry /
Bear Cavalry are a band that are not easily described. Combining intricate rhythms, African chants, trumpets, falsetto vocals and electro synths the band are difficult to tie to any one genre. Despite having such a vast range of musical influences each song still manages to maintain immediate hooks and pop sensibilities. Following on from their release through Big Scary Monsters Recordings the band have recently been supported on BBC Radio One by the likes of Edith Bowman and Kissy Sell Out.
Stealing Signs /
Stealing Signs are an Indie-rock-pop-dance quartet from the sexy end of Essex. They play music in the same room at the same time and in the same key. This music has stirred up a big old bumblebee buzz as well as a solid following, radio play, big gigs, big love and big releases.
Their first single climbed into the top twenty of the itunes rock chart in a week! Following on from this success, Stealing Signs have received radio play on XFM and Radio 1. This hard working band of best friends continue to produce exciting sets of energetic tunes for youíre listening ears and dancing feet.
