Apocalypso presents: Stopmakingme, Bowski & Rory Phillips 23/7/11
For July's instalment of Apocalypso niceness we have three amazing guest headliners, including local boys STOPMAKINGME (Kill'em All) and RORY PHILLIPS (Durrr) and hot-new-thing BOWSKI from Fake Blood's label, Blood Music.
STOPMAKINGME a.k.a. Dan Avery has been consistently stood out from the crowd in the London scene over the past few years as one of the brightest talents. As a resident at legendary club night Kill 'em All at fabric, he regularly showcases his skills to a packed Room 1 with electro / techno / disco-tinged sets taking in influences as from Erol / Carl Craig / Factory Recs / P.I.L. to name a few.
As a producer he has been asked to remix the likes of Hercules & Love Affair, Metronomy, In Flagranti, Black Devil Disco Club and released his own material on Kill 'em All / Southern Fried / Bang Gang.
RORY PHILLIPS has been a resident at some of London's coolest clubbing institutions over the years including Trash and Durrr, and continues to tour Europe on a regular basis with his mix of electro / disco / synthpop gems. But the reason we felt compelled to book him, like Dan Avery, was on the back of the sheer quality of his recent prolific run of remixes. For us he'll be playing upstairs, giving him licence to dig deep into party bag of music and pull out anything from obscure pop gold to post punk goodness.
We also welcome BOWSKI from Fake Blood's label Blood Music. If you aren't familiar with this guy's deep but bouncy productions check this shizzle out: Error! Hyperlink reference not valid.. He is also a resident at UK-wide night WAX:ON. A youngster that is def on the up-and-up!
These guys will be joined by resident DEKKER and regular guests MARCUS HARRIS from White Heat and STOCKY.
