An autumn and winter of busy line-ups and sell-out crowds at Pin Ups peaked at last month's jam-packed Ladies Night 4 with perhaps the most star-studded Pin Ups moment ever - Adele from Sons and Daughters, Tracyanne from Camera Obscura and none other than our Secret Hunky Treat Paolo Nutini all cutting about within about 20 feet of each other! More "Pin Ups" than you could shake a stick at! Mr Nutini posed for an endless amount of pictures, and went as far as to leave an answerphone message for a lady who left early because she didn't believe that he was going to show up. There's plenty of pictures of the action in our website gallery, and here's a wee dancefloor clip filmed during Adele's DJ set -

In comparison to all this action we're presenting a "normal" Pin Ups this month, or a Pin Ups as close to "normal" as PIn Ups ever gets. That's right - no themes, no detailed list of guests - just the Pin Ups chaps providing 2 rooms of top class indie, punk, soul and electropop from 9am through to 3am, as well as 3 top class local Glasgow bands!
Milk are so mysterious we can't even provide a link, but their lack of internet presence has actually generated them loads of favourable press. Milk say they reserve the right to remain enigmatic, while suggesting they are into Can, Bowie, Tom Waits, the Doors, Radio 4 and Nick Drake, amongst many others - a promising jumble I'm sure you'd agree! Sonic Hearts Foundation (
http://www.myspace.com/sonicheartsfoundation) promise to be just as interesting, delivering guitars drenched in reverb, half understood lyrics, heavy drums and sleazy bass lines that should translate well in the Flying Duck's Main Room. And in case everything gets too serious, Galleries (
http://www.galleriesband.co.uk/) will play some very accessible and melodic "epic pop music".
Should be another splendid night!
In the pipeline after this month is a unique Pin Ups take on the very exciting Royal Wedding on the last Friday in April (we haven't thought up the daft name yet but can already promise that there will be a "stick your toe in Fergie's mouth" cardboard cut out, and a shrine to Princess Di and Dodi...), followed on the last Friday of May by a reprisal of last year's popular Pin Up Nights:
Blogger's Delight, with blogosphere luminaries such as Peenko, RADAR and The Pop Cop already signed up to Guest DJ.
Thanks!
