11th Feb: Brighton: SILENT FRONT, SOLOMON GRUNDY, CAUTIONHORSES & THE DEAD BEAT
Ola,
I'm putting on this show. Noisy. Fun.
I made this & Skewed Logic present a co-promo-show....yo...
Friday 11th February 2011
Upstairs at newly refurbished and soundproofed Hobgoblin - actually a decent little venue as opposed to the filthpit it was previously...
SILENT FRONT
www.silentfront.co.uk / www.silentfront.bandcamp.com
Post-punk dischordant riff merchants from London/Kingston. For fans of Fugazi, Shellac, Drive Like Jehu. Been going for a few years, recent release Dead Sea is bloody epic. If you like beefy riffs than make your legs shake and shouted vocals you will love this.
SOLOMON GRUNDY
www.solomongrundy.bandcamp.com
Fugazi and Mclusky loving chaps from up Nottingham way. On tour with Silent Front. Bass-heavy riffage, a new drummer to boot. But yes, if you like Fugazi and Mclusky this band is somewhere between the two, but a little heavier. Really good basically.
CAUTIONHORSES
www.myspace.com/cautionhorses
Brighton/London/Chichester charmers bring their angular post-punk shouting attack again. Clever lyrics and silly lyrics and a sound like a Devo/Gang of four knifefight, or someequally poor cliche. I really like them and maybe for fans of Future of the Left I think.
THE DEAD BEAT
www.thedeadbeat.bandcamp.com
Brighton/London post-punk'n'roll bring it. For fans of The Bronx, Hot Snakes, Paint it Black etc. Rock n roll with shouting and general undirected anger.
£4 entry
18 + venue
7.45pm doors, first band by 8pm. Small venue, so if you want to make sure you get in, get down there early.
