Pin Ups NME aftershows are always action-packed affairs!

In 2007 we welcomed the Automatic to Guest DJ at our then venue the Woodside Social Club, which resulted in a legendary scene as the whole dancefloor was at one point full entirely of girls! Photos – http://www.pinup-nights.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=16

Fast-forward to January 2009 and Florence (and her Machine) put on a scenery-chewing turn, strutting about the DJ box, scaling the walls, flashing her boobs and so on. The friendly fellas of Friendly Fires had to follow this frenzy and I think they were fairly shell shocked and conducted their DJ set in a bit of a daze. In 2010 we welcomed Bombay Bicycle Club and The Big Pink to DJ, and the Maccabees turned up too. The night was at Stereo and things got extremely mental on stage, with at one point all of BBC, half of the Maccabees and the drummer from The Big Pink leaping about inviting everybody up to join them. In 2011 we are welcoming Everything Everything as Guest DJs with further bookings TBC (ie we are also talking to the Vaccines). Most bands from the tour tend to show up a the aftershow anyway, so we're not getting too worked up about getting everybody officially booked. We have been fans of Everything Everything since 2009 and it's going to be cool to finally meet them. Both rooms of the Flying Duck will be open, vodka/gin + mix will be just £1.50, cans of Carlsberg/Strongbow will be just £2, and entry will be just £4 with the gig ticket.

It's a first-ever chance to have some Pin Ups fun on a Thursday night, so get yourself along!
