Evolution Emerging is the North East's biggest event for emerging music. Last year we had 25 groups and artists performing to around 1,200 people at six venues in Newcastle's Ouseburn Valley.

Previous headliners have included Detroit Social Club and The Week That Was and the lineups have been full of the best upcoming acts including bands like DiS favourites Let's Buy Happiness.

The time's come to pick who will be playing at this year's event on Friday 27 May and we're inviting people to apply online at www.generator.org.uk/evolutionemerging2011

There are no restrictions on genre and we'll listen to every entry, but you must be North East-based (sorry).
