DRAG AND DROP presents...
THE YUMMY FUR formed in Glasgow in 1992 from the same loose network that gave us Country Teasers, Bis, Lungleg, Divorce, 1990s (and, eventually, Franz Ferdinand). Their early ten-song 7?s were the most exciting thing to assault my 15-year old ears in 1995 and among the best records Slampt ever released. Four years after their first record The Yummy Fur released ‘Sexy World’, completing the transition between ‘Middlemass’-era Fall and a ranty Roxy Music for indie discos. After a split in 1998 and a long hiatus they returned in January to play two comeback gigs in London; this is their first Leeds gig since the split.

PLEASE are Keeby, Roland and Michael, or if you prefer "like a grouse being stuffed into the mouth of a wild boar". Their swaggering, feudal rock music got the boozy Spaniards going when they toured over the spring with Beards. Each member extolls his own eccentric body movements and facial expressions as can be seen from the video below. You may recognise one of their faces from Cleckhuddersfax.

TWO MINUTE NOODLES have had to cancel due to an injury - apologies. Instead we have..
BEARDS, a two girl one boy assault on the kind of wonky, complicated yet utterly danceable rock music that Leeds is so good at. Having started out as a shambolic party band like LUNG LEG Beards have matured into a true tour de force of the Leeds music scene. Their first LP 'Brick By Boulder' was described by Norman Records thus: "somewhere between early Arab on Radar, The Units and The Minutemen with hints of UK d.i.y outsiders Bilge Pump and Cleckhuddersfax in there for good measure"
