18/12 Brighton - OK Pilot, Pacer, The Dead Beat, Rooks, Bastion @ Cowley Club
Hi,
I'm putting on a show of bands I like, and bands I'm a member of....
OK PILOT
From Exeter on freakscene records - this lot play loud riffy dischordant punkrock'n'roll. Kinda like The Bronx meets Hot Snakes, with a british accent. They've toured Europe and the US and are brilliant live.
PACER
From London and surrounding places, a newcomer to the DIY punkrcok scene in name, but not faces. Ex members of The Steal amongst other notable bands - and recently put their debut out via the Bouncing Souls US label. So catchy, and so much fun live.
THE DEAD BEAT
A post-punk'n'roll machine from Brighton/London. Imagine The Bronx via Paint it Black and Fugazi with some riffs stolen from John Reiss and you've got a vague approximation, last show with current drummer.
ROOKS
Big angular riffs and massive hooks from this new Brighton band.
BASTION
Streetpunk without mohawks from Brighton, first show in over a year. Expect special guests and sloppy punkrock fun.
