CITY REIGN
ity Reign formed in the late months of 2008 when song writing pair Chris Bull and Michael Grice previous band split. The two decided to keep going and went about searching for another rhythm section. They recruited drummer Sam Jones from their football team and after their first rehearsal they knew they had something to work with, just needing a bass player to fill the line up. Knowing a good thing to jump onto when he saw one, housemate Michael Glaze decided to buy a second hand bass on ebay for £30 and learn the basics from Grice and Bull. The pair had originally met at a Ryan Adams gig and decided to take the band name from the Love Is Hell song “City Rain, City Streets”, with Sam suggesting a play on the words. The band rehearsed intensively in the spare room of their student house and began to play shows in Manchester, working their way up to a headline slot at the Night and Day cafe. The same venue saw them play alongside Goldhawks, as well as their support slot for American outfit Middle Class Rut. The band were invited to work with Metropolis mixing engineer Dan Parry in March ‘09, who helped them lay down recordings of two new songs Stay Where You Are and Daybreak. The band took great confidence from this session and returned to Manchester with renewed purpose. Having played a few more shows in Manchester and few in London, Parry invited them back to London in October. Here the band laid down three more songs to complete their 5 track record, ‘daybreak e.p.’ They have continued to play live in Manchester and recently enjoyed a successful show at the Hungry Pigeon Festival. The band have since taken time off to set up their own independent record label – Car Boot Records - under which they plan to release their first official single, Making Plans. They recorded the single at Blueprint Studios Manchester, which will be released on 27th September.

LISBON
Formed in the autumn of 2009, Lisbon are a 5-piece pop band hailing from Manchester, England. With a penchant for dramatic pop music, the band began with one clear objective – creating high-quality, modern songs with universal appeal. After a prolific song-writing period, Lisbon are intent on imprinting their sound upon the public consciousness by embarking on a series of live performances in their home town.
SANTIAGO STREET MACHINE
"Massive hooks, dirty riffs, and a vocal that cuts through the synths like lightning. A band that will have no problem holding their own in an already saturated electro market…
…Santiago Street Machine's lead singer, Andy Chandler, is evidently more than capable of penning a lyric or two, and with the juxtaposition of a downright dirty bass line and some mesmerising percussion, you'd never have guessed SSM are still very much in their infancy…
…Dr Hoax is the most accomplished electro pop track you'll hear all year. Never have synths and guitars sounded so delicious together, sorry Brandon!"
XFM PRODUCER, Dave Masterman
"…a shining and stark example of everything that is thrilling and compelling about electronic, beats based music performed in the live environment…
…the single most explicit aspect of their sound is quite how hard it is to pin down…
…a superb mix: filled with tension and energy but always keeping enough musical distance to prevent the whole thing getting gridlocked"
