Underachievers Please Die Harder (Saki Bar - Manc) - Sat Oct 30th
Underachievers Please Die Harder - The Halloween Disco is back, and taking revenge. It is fancy dress optional. Last year was half and half, some people did, some didn't. It was one of the best nights we have done regardless. We will also bring back the masks again especially for it.
All this will be for the normal prices of £3 before 10.30 or with flyer/ £4/ £5 after midnight. Considering the calibre of the guest and the other bands playing, plus all the extras making this one almighty night of fright...this will be a steal!
Plus drink deals like £3 doubles and mixers/ £2 premium bottles
Here are the bands...
At midnight (ie- actually on Halloween itself) there will be...
A SECRET HALLOWEEN SHOW. We really can't tell you. However somewhere within the confines of this event page is a clue. This will be a full-on fancy dress Halloween show.
KID CANAVERAL

"What is it about Scots and indie pop? the two seem to go hand in hand. Give a Scot a guitar and he will bash out a catchy as hell song that will make you pogo about in your room for days. Edinburgh's Kid Canaveral are no exception. In other words this band have a magic touch with music. As I know you'll never hear songs this honest and worm their way into your eardrums so quick. Brilliant, Brilliant stuff that needs to be heard! This is your new favourite band!" - Vindictive Jukebox
Fresh from supporting Frightened Rabbit, Kid Canaveral's debut album has been critically acclaimed everywhere. It was also named BBC Radio Introducing...In Scotland's album of the month in July.

'It's quite a feat when, on your debut album, you outstrip your heroes. Glasgow newcomers clearly have a fondness for The Flaming Lips, but their first long player is better than anything Wayne Coyne and co have done since Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.' (The Sunday Herald)
This isn't just hype or promotion. This is pretty dead on. Check out their new video on the comments to see for yourself. Incredibly talented band.
BEAT THE RADAR

"To The City From The Sea is a sturdy ship of songs that should see them sail to much wider success. It is as fine a slice of good old-fashioned indie as you'll hear, and in a scene packed with angular synths and 80s influences, that makes a refreshing change." (bbc.co.uk)
UNDERACHIEVERS CLUBNIGHT
Playing a frighteningly alternative selection of music, with probably some vague Halloween type choices on the night, there will also be some of these usual suspects...
Best Coast - The National - Belle & Sebastian - Wild Nothing - Arcade Fire - The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Deerhunter - Titus Andronicus - Pavement - Pixies - Magnetic Fields - Jens Lekman - Allo Darlin' - Broken Social Scene - Camera Obscura - Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Veronica Falls - The Cure - Radiohead - British Sea Power - Neutral Milk Hotel - Weezer - No Age - Why? - Caribou
