LCMDF Live
Le Corps Mince de Françoise are an all-girl all-attitude duo who despite their French name actually hail from Helsinki, Finland. Depending on who you’re speaking to ‘The Skinny Body of Françoise’ may refer to singer Emma’s late anorexic cat, or it may have just ‘sounded cool’ when it came to picking a band name. I personally prefer the first explanation so let’s just stick with that.
Fed up with the feminist band tag that their electro-meets-grrl-garage-punk sound was attracting, the Scandinavian sisters have spent the last year toning down their sound and have re-emerged with a slicker more Nineties pop feel. That’s not to say they’ve suddenly become all sensible, their songs still see them calling people ‘assholes’ and they still wouldn’t date a guy wearing Ray Bans, phew.

Rotkäppchen Live
Rotkäppchen is the German translation of Little Red Riding Hood. Not a group to do things by halves, the electronic two-piece that have adopted this translation as their namesake frequently take to the stage in the trademark red capes and have even earned themselves the nickname of the ‘Cape Crusaders’. Combining laptops, synths, live drums and other miscellaneous technical devices to create what they describe as a ‘non-stop party’ the pair pull out all the stops. They have refrained so far from incorporating wolves into their fairytale themed live act, but with these two, you just never know…

Conquering Animal Sound Live
Ever taken a trip to the heathery moors of the Highlands to gaze at the long grass, feel the quiet wind on your face and squint at the blurry skyline beyond the hills? Me neither, but if you’re looking for a cheaper way to a relaxing getaway, Conquering Animal Sound are the band equipped to transport you to a better place. Over the past year the band’s innovative take on lo-fi folk has been wooing crowds around the country, there is certainly a bright future ahead.
