Grande duke, Trojan horse, Karhide + Fall of Messiah: Derby, TONIGHT!!!
GRANDE DUKE - http://www.myspace.com/grandeduke
Grande Duke gatecrash their way into the instrumental party with a gleeful kitchen sink approach […] a broad stew that recalls post-rock, Krautrock and just plain old rock at various junctures…
ROCKSOUND
Rolling base lines, instrumental tunes that amble along, smooth yet slightly discordant, slightly jazzy, slightly post rock, tracks that sound like gentle genre-crossing jams that groove, that touch on blues […] a fine fine progressive post-rock flavoured jazz beast that you need to let breathe, expand and reveal itself…

TROJAN HORSE - http://www.myspace.com/trojanhorseband
Trojan horse are akin to some sort of lab-based musical experiment. They span a huge array of genres, seamlessly and effortlessly, so many that even the best wordsmith would struggle to ‘nutshell’ Trojan Horse. They are progressive and experimental, brutal and fierce, delicate and slinky. It’s sonic mayhem and it makes for some of the most interesting and diligently written music you’re likely to hear for some time. Highly recommended.”

KARHIDE - http://www.myspace.com/karhide
Combining backing tracks from a laptop with live music, Karhide shows himself as a craftsman and pioneer of driving, atmospheric sound.
The instrumental meanderings build in pace and stamina, which resonate into textured landscapes that swell in beautiful melody before falling into heavy troughs of grab-you-in-the-chest sound. As a first time listener, the music draws me in as it takes on a hypnotic persona and resonates through the minimally populated Chameleon. Karhide is definitely worth keeping an ear on. - One Beat
