"Britain's answer to The Drums"
- The Independent
"The Shangri Las meets The Strokes"
- Evening Standard
Johnny & the Medicine Show formed in Camden Town in late 2009 over a broken heart and a love of crackly doo-wop records.
The band’s music is a mix of tough 50s rock’n’roll, heartbreaking doo-wop melodies and the ragged spirit of the early Strokes - with Johnny’s vocals often likened to a young Julian Casablancas.
Not long after forming, Johnny & the Medicine Show launched their own club night - 'Pepper Spray' at the George Tavern in East London. Pepper Spray was later named "one of London's coolest clubnights" by Time Out.
Following support slots with Black Lips and Lets Wrestle, Johnny & the Medicine Show self-recorded a three track demo EP.

''Bubblegum petticoat pop punk girls, hoping to stick in your head like chewing gum in your tresses. A mixture of high heels, glamour, desolation and sex. Come, see, and dance, and you're sure to get lucky thats quite a promise and they must be good as they are being looked after by none other than Martin Hall who manages the manics, the horrors, new young pony club so we are honored to showcase them for this their first gig
ROXANNE DE BASTION

Summery folk pop with a bite. She serves up funny and biting sometimes angry missives on love and life in London Riot Grrl Folk if you will roxanne is a warm charming lady with an astounding voice think 60s Joan Baez or Janis Joplin crossed with Courtney Love on a cheerful day surrounded by farm yard animals... shes an astounding performer switching from cheerful lyrics to impassioned cutting put downs on useless boys ... this event will be the unveiling of her video shot in berlin which has already had an airing on the beeb and is all about pyschedelic bubbles appearing through walls .... Geil! (that's cool in german ...shes a berliner/english mix ) shes off on a mini New York trip to play so see her now before the deals start flooding in ...
”Roxanne’s songs are deeply original yet touch the listener as if they already know them. In short, they are instantly memorable.” (FOCUS MAGAZINE)
"Her vocals are perfectly complimented by her laid-back acoustic guitar, which let the lyrics of her instantly relatable and well crafted songs fly straight into the hearts of anyone lucky enough to hear." (LS MEDIA)
SHERMAN

'Sherman is the alterego of the Belgian singersongwriter Steven Bossuyt. Starting off with just the need to fulfill his urge to write songs, Sherman ended up recording some demos with good friend, and now drummer of the band, David Demeyere. After playing several live solo shows in both Belgium and the UK, Sherman took the plunge and moved to the smoke After weeks on weeks he kept on writing songs and playing solo shows at several venues all over town, . After trying every new song he wrote in front of a live audience and receiving a good response, plans were made to record a single.First single 'On your side' was produced by EMI Publishing-signed multi talented Jeroen Swinnen he now plays with a backing band and this is a chance to see this promising new act.
