THE PIPETTES
The Pipettes are back, and now they’re a big shiny pop group. Or at least, that’s what they’d like you to believe. In their first incarnation The Pipettes had remarkable success. A top ten album in Japan where the single 'Pull Shapes' was only kept off the number one spot by J-Lo, top ten radio positions all across Europe, two Top Forty hits in the UK and a Top Ten in the US billboard indies. They played on the main stages at Reading and Glastonbury, blazed a British trail across SXSW, conquered the world and sold a heap of records. Now there’s been a molecular reconstruction, altering the DNA of the band into pure pop format, leaving behind the realm of the three female harmony girl-group for the unison girl pop of Abba and the Pointer Sisters, moving towards the sounds of Chic-inspired seventies disco and eighties chart music. A new single “Call Me” is released in July, followed by an album ‘Earth Vs The Pipettes’ in September, produced by the legendary Martin Rushent (Human League, Stranglers).
“The quality of life on earth is doubled tenfold by the existence of The Pipettes” – NME

THE SCHOOL
The School are a female-fronted indiepop band from Cardiff, Wales, UK that occupy the space between The Pipettes and Belle & Sebastian, heirs of the best pop from the sixties (The Shirelles, The Ronettes, The Supremes) and the best Scottish pop (Camera Obscura, BMX Bandits). The band signed to legendary Spanish label Elefant Records after playing only 4 shows, and has recently released their debut album “Loveless Unbeliever”, produced by Ian Catt (Saint Etienne, Trembling Blue Stars, The Field Mice, Shampoo, The Boo Radleys),
"A swaying, winsome tune with some of the Phil Spector lushness of Lucky Soul, the Belle & Sebastian-style modesty of Camera Obscura, and the airy, girl-group vocals of both" – Pitchfork

A LITTLE ORCHESTRA
Led by Monster Bobby of Pipettes-fame, 'a little orchestra' is a small chamber orchestra in the classical style, of indeterminate size and instrumentation, taking inspiration from such groups as Steve Reich and Musicians, The Portsmouth Sinfonia, the Scratch Orchestra, the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra and the Fluxus movement. Rumour has it they’re also rehearsing the hits of The Damned.
