THE SEE SEE
"Psych-country pop that mixes West Coast '60s America, junked-out '70s and the best of '90s northern England" -NME
"The See See are a revelation, demonstrating you can still rock the jingle jangle guitars and tight Beach Boys harmonies and remain fresh." Alan McGee, This Is Jack Magazine
STILL CORNERS:
Still Corners are science-y in a Broadcast/Delia Derbyshire way and 60s noir soundtracky in a John Barry way. Icy blonde, cooly detached gossamer vocals and hoity tambourine shaking from the singer. The music creates a compelling sense of unease, it’s remote but enthralling. (kittenpainting blog)
“Their sound has a retro-feel to it, – some 60s and 70s psychedelia mixed with 80s dreamy indie-pop and everything is blended together into a unique and beautiful sound. When I hear Still Corners’ music, I’m reminded of 4AD-bands from the 80s and 90s, like Lush, Pale Saints, A.R.Kane or Cocteau Twins. Maybe I hear a bit of early Stereolab in there too?
THE LIGHT SHINES
The Light Shines is one man. lo-fi drones, tambourines, backwards triangles, sitars, guitars, and the sound of old records.
The overall effect is The Beatles' "Within You Without You" via Spacemen 3 in "Perfect Prescription" woozy drone-blues mode; an envelpoingly addictive trance... It's like a sundazed acoustic Spiritualized'
