LEAFCUTTER JOHN

A member of Mercury-nominated avant-jazz collective Polar Bear, Leafcutter John is a multi-talented musician, songwriter, remixer and artist whose work marries the best cadences of folk with the expressive utility of samples, mixing and field recordings. He has released four albums, the latest of which is The Forest and the Sea (Staubgold Records), and builds many of his own electronic instruments from scratch.

John has collaborated with: David Toop, Sebastian Rochford, Sebastien Roux, Kaffe Matthews, Janek Schaefer, Tomoko Takahashi, and Ingrid Laubrock.

John will be premiering new material at this show.

MANDELBROT (Official Album Launch Show)

Mandelbrot is the solo project of Keung from Mandelbrot Set and focuses more on the experimental side of guitar manipulation, utilizing the effects pedals and samplers to a much greater degree and truly creating some mind-bending sounds.

From a melodic base, the sound evolves in many directions, from digital crackle to white noise, from ebowed drones to subsonic lowends. For musical sign-posts, think the musical crossroads of Aerial M, Spacemen3, and SunnO))).

Keung will be playing pieces from the forthcoming debut album "Effect / Delay".

LINA LAPELYTE

Lina is a Lithuanian violinist, sound artist and composer. Her work encompasses live performances, sound installations, scores for dance, theater and film. Since 2005 she has been composing and performing electronic/electroacoustic music.

Now based in London she is actively involved in London improvised music scene, using violin as her base instrument. She is also a member of the laptop quartet Twentytwentyone - the ensemble devoted to the performances of graphical notation scores.
