LOVE MUSIC HATE RACISM South London presents...The Tunics & Patch William @ Windmill | March 20th
The Windmill in Brixton once again opens its doors in support of LOVE MUSC HATE RACISM in South London! We had such a great time there last December that we've decided to throw another anti-facist party!
Come along and learn about the movement, sign up, buy a t-shirt....and dance to some great music!
We are very excited to announce the following headliners....
THE TUNICS
http://www.myspace.com/thetunics
Celebrated Croydon 3-piece, signed to Manta Ray Music. Their sound is their own, so the inevitable comparisons that try to label them lie all over the rock spectrum from Oasis to The Reverend to Wombats to The Libertines, but are unable to pin them down. But on one thing all agree: the sound is thrilling.
"Fiery, urgent tunes with a brutal honesty and earnestness."
NME: PICK OF THE WEEK
"Listen to the music. Invade the stage. And go love the Tunics as much as we do."
BBC London: LONDON CALLING
"Utterly thrilling, anthemic rock 'n' roll... The most culturally vital music I've heard all year."
BRIDGING THE ATLANTIC
&
PATCH WILLIAM
http://www.myspace.com/patchwilliam
London based 4-piece signed to Steve Levine's label Hubris records.
"PATCH WILLIAM is a heady mix of guitar licks, Ska and New-York minimalism with tight and innovative drum parts. Distinctive vocals and an undeniable individuality makes for a genuinely refreshing sound."
THE TROUBADOUR
"PATCH WILLIAM evocative understatedly clever. poetic and beautifully crafted, acoustic natured songs with a fresh yet retrospective resonance and easy as you like delivery. reminds me of Nick Drake through to even Jamie T, definitely made to be heard live or on a nice vinyl record with sleeve notes!"
THE BULL AND GATE
"Might Patch William be the next big thing? They seem rather wonderful to me"
