HEXICON

Hexicon started as a lo-fi voice/guitar/french horn combo in 2004 and got told they sounded like a junk shop Beach Boys. They expanded when Mike, Paul and Tom were joined by Andy and Greg, the rotating drummer tag-team and Giles who was a total bass-head.

Hexicon have so far played on bills with some of their favourite people including James Yuill, Fireworks Night, Esiotrot, Darren Hayman, Fanfarlo and SFA. Rob Rotifer took them out on a tour of Austria in 2006 to play some shows alongside Fuzzman and himself.

ROTIFER

Having avoided any hint of British fame over the course of five albums full of politically and poetically charged pop songs, in his native country Austria, where Rotifer has topped indie charts with hit songs such as “I Believe You” and “The Frankfurt Kitchen”, and played numerous tours featuring various English musician friends such as Darren Hayman (ex-Hefner) on bass and Ian Button (Death in Vegas, Thrashing Doves) on drums, who will both feature on stage at the Electroacoustic Club as they did on Rotifer’s latest album “The Children on the Hill”.

King and the Olive Fields is a hip young man named Phillip Serfaty, he resides in the infamous London borough of New Cross, he is sometimes but not always accompanied by his very talented, beautiful group of friends who often come and go and when they come, they lend his music the sound of their percussion, their oboes, their cellos, their banjos, their ukuleles and their voices.

The music is delicate and thoughtful folk, it’s minimalistic but the quaint nature of it ensures that none of the charm is lost.
