Charity Gig @ 12 Bar Club 20 January
I am attempting to raise money primarily for MacMillan Cancer Support but also for bowel cancer research. I am delighted to announce that the 4 acts confirmed to play on the night are:
Ger Lane (http://www.myspace.com/gerlanemusic) an excellent singer songwriter and a regular performer at the 12 Bar traveling all the way from Limerick.
A band making a big impact in Oxford the Dead Jerichos (http://www.myspace.com/deadjerichos) who have chosen this event to for their EP launch and are making their London debut. Their last demo just won demo of the month in Oxfords magazine Nightshift and their song 'Red Dancefloor' came 17th in the top 20 tracks of this year.
Good friends of mine Arm The Forest (http://www.myspace.com/armtheforest) also making their London debut. They are an instrumental 3 piece and among their influences are the Mars Volta, The Cure, The Smiths and Porcupine Tree.
Finally I am also excited to announce Rubella (http://www.myspace.com/rubella) as a late addition to the lineup. Their first single, Napalm, was picked up by John Kennedy of Xfm and also by Nemone on BBC Radio 6, who added Rubella to The Lunchbox and interviewed singer Anouska live on air.
The venue take the first £200 on the door and the bar takings, otherwise all profits from the door, any money collected on the night, topped up by 30% by my Company [to a maximum of £500] will go to MacMillan Cancer Support. In addition to this I have set up a group with Cancer Research to raise money specifically for bowel cancer research. Please go to http://myprojects.cancerresearchuk.org/group-giving/ifyouwriteittheywillgive. To all those who have already provided support already, especially Rebecca and Richard from MacMillan Cancer Support my grateful thanks.
