The Horatia will be opening on Friday 29th Jan and promises to take N7 by storm. The people behind Shorditch's highly successful disco plub Horse & Groom are opening the doors to their latest venue, The Horatia on Friday 29th Jan. Baptized after the love child of Lady Hamilton & Vice Admiral Nelson, this is a beautiful 400 capacity traditional London boozer with a bumper 2am license for plenty of evening decadence and debauchery. The sound system has been sourced from the old Cross venue as we intend to host some fantastic guests along the way in February with a fantastic array of free nights with guests like James Priestley (Secretsundaze), Disco Bloodbath’s Damon Martin, Johnny Hiller (Lasermagnetic) who will be joining us alongside new exciting residencies from Wandy, Tirk Records’s Ben Terry & Matty J, The Discovery boys, Claremount 56 and many more.
Tonight for the very special free opening launch party Horatia is very proud and excited to announce that London Disco legends Faze Action will be playing a full live show with djs support from the discovery boys Neil Thornton, Dave Rose & Guille Bo,. This really promises to be a fun packed party and expect a lot of surprises and giveaways as the party kicks off a wonderful weekend of free opening parties with Trojan Sound system (Decks & FX) and Itchysoul who will be doing a do on the Saturday
FAZE ACTION LIVE BIO
Faze Action have been pivotal in directing the modern disco sound since day dot, releasing a series of 12 inches on the influential Nuphonic label in the mid 90s including the classic “In the Trees” and more recently their critically acclaimed “Stratus Energy” album released on their own label FAR ,amongst an army of recent remixes. But it’s at their live gigs where Faze Action’s music really comes alive with their 6 piece band, being one of the few acts that can translate their music from the studio onto the live arena. With Robin returning from Japan in 98 Faze Action live was born, taking in well over 100 gigs, including the legendary live shows at Glastonbury and tour support for Groove Armada. More recently Faze Action have been playing electrifying gigs at Fabric’s Room 1 with Tim Sweeney, The Milk in the park festival, Garden festival in Croatia, Moscow Solyanka and many more. They are fast gaining recognition as one of the hottest live acts to come out of the ever growing London disco scene.
Discovery (Neil Thornton, Dave Rose & Guille Bo)
Discovery
Disovery was born out of a labour of love when Neil Thornton (Lasermagnetic) Dave Rose & Argentinean Disco don Guille Bo decided to throw some proper Sunday fun parties with the ethos aimed at the dancefloor rather than the chin stroking brigade. At their parties previous guest have included The Revenge, Ivan Smagghe, Tim Paris, Greg Wilson, Pilooksi, Trevor Jackson, Craig Richards, Brennan Green, Stevie Kotey (Chicken Lips), Ray Mang, Richard Sen, Simon Lee, Curious People, Nathan Gregory Wilkins, booking djs who love to entertain the crowd and who get involved too… Their infamous Discovery parties take place at Shoreditch’s legendary Disco Pub the Horse & Groom. When the boys play together, expect a nonstop party of rediscovered unclassics alongside more modern house and electronic delights where the most important aspect is about the making sure that everyone is having the best possible time and having a fiesta as Guille calls it.
