Trojan Records
Trojan Records was launched by Island Record’s Chris Blackwell in 1967 as a showcase for the music of legendary music producer Duke Reid.
Reid was called “The Trojan” because of the seven ton Leyland Trojan trucks he used, to transport his sound system in Jamaica.
Since it’s inception the label has released the highest quality Jamaican output. Numerous Worldwide hits have followed, from artists such as Lee Perry, Desmond Decker, The Pioneers, and of course Bob Marley and The Wailers.
This massive catalogue of releases make Trojan the world’s best known reggae label.
