--- 8TH DEC - THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART @ SCALA, LONDON ---
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are a New York four-piece who play genius noisy pop songs with boy/girl vocals, blissful melodies, fuzz guitar and blistering drums. Their self-titled debut album on Fortuna POP! was named by Pitchfork as one of the five most anticipated releases of the year and has gone on to collect every accolade under the sun. Thrilling and insouciantly cool, they might just be the most exciting indiepop band on the planet right now.
"Pure indie-pop to hold close to your heart." - NME
Yup, it's been one hell of a year for The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and for Fortuna POP! The last Pains gig of the year in the UK will be at the Scala, London on Tuesday 8th December, after which the band will, bar a jaunt to Japan and Australia in February, be concentrating on recording their second album.
It would be great if you could all come along and celebrate 2009 with us. There will be a free afterparty at the Lexington for anyone wanting to carry on drinking after the show. I'm sure you'll find the band there. You'll definitely find me there.
The early bird tickets for this show have now all gone, but there are regular priced tickets available here at this link:
