Gaggle/Retriever/Alloy Ark @ The Phoenix, London, Saturday 3rd October
Back again at The Phoenix, Cavendish Square (Oford Circus) we have possibly our best line up yet. Gaggle will be providing a unique view on the world via a 22-piece female ''sci-fi choir''. We aren't exactly certain how they might all fit on stage, but be sure to catch them in a small venue before it's too late. They have been desciribed by the NME as ''the most exciting, innovative and genuinely imaginative force in large in music right now''. We can not wait.
As well as this we have Newcastle 3-piece Retriever, travelling 350 miles just to shatter your ear drums with their own take on the dirty rock n roll we all love. They have been described as a cross between The Kills and Jesus and The Mary Chain, although we think you'll agree they stand up as a force amongst themselves, and with a debut single being released in the coming weeks, we urge you to come and check them out.
Kicking off proceedings are the genuinely warming Alloy Ark. Alloy Ark hail from East Anglia and play some beautiful pop songs that we hope will bring as much joy to you as they do to us. One of the best singing voices we have heard live in some time, these guys aren't even old enough to drink but have a collection of timeless classics under their belt already.
And of course we have the mighty Crash Rhino Djs entertaining between bands and afterwards until 3am.
The cost is £5 and includes a raffle ticket to win a whole bunch of alcoholic and non-alcoholic prizes.
Doors open at 9pm and we hope you are first in queue. For limited free guestlist places be one of the first to email alan@wearefallingdown and we will accommodate you.
