Trespassers William [http://www.myspace.com/trespasserswilliam]
New to the Leeds based Gizeh Records family, after previous releases on Bella Union and Nettwerk, Trespassers William return with a new EP full of their usual chilling warmth. A sensory overload of broken, distorted soundscapes, all the while pinned back by Anna-Lynne's unmistakably haunting vocals and words. Trespassers spent two years touring with the likes of Damien Rice, Stereolab, Explosions in the Sky and Broken Social Scene before recording their second album with Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips/Mercury Rev/Low/MGMT etc). Anna-Lynne has also recorded guest vocals on The Chemical Brothers 'Push the Button' record.
"Singer Anna-Lynne Williams has one of those crystal-clear voices made up of shyness, loneliness and quiet despair, while her band dream up the kind of space country that might have sound tracked 'Twin Peaks: The Comedown Years" - NME
Glissando [http://www.myspace.com/glissando]
Glissando is a duo from Leeds, UK playing ambient, slowcore, classical based music. Their debut album 'With Our Arms Wide Open We March Towards the Burning Sea' was released to high critical acclaim on Gizeh in June 2008. A heavy touring schedule in 2008, including shows with Stars of the Lid, and now into 2009 is taking this beautiful band to fresh audiences and complete with added members Glissando is now a breathtaking live experience.
"Low meets Mogwai, only with fragments of Regina Spektor at her most restrained. Exceptional." - Rockfood (5/5)
Konntinent [http://www.myspace.com/konntinent]
Konntinent is the work of London’s Antony J Harrison. As well as co-curating Phantom Channel (an esteemed Net/CD-R Label) including its special Events wing, Harrison’s recorded output can be found on revered labels including Symbolic Interaction, Dynamophone, Serein and Sonic Pieces. His music is unique, utilising an arsenal of broken electronics, silky organic instrumentation, found sounds and drone-based soundscapes, Konntinent ensures he avoids well-trodden paths to establish the fact that his compositions are very much his own.
”As illuminative as anything Labradford has laid their hand to, floating past gently in a cloud of ambient distortion.” - Boring Machine Disturbs Sleep
