Fri Aug 7th - Offbeat DJs at HDIF in Brixton
We're very pleased to welcome back Chris and Gill from Sheffield's legendary Offbeat club night for their annual visit to HDIF in Brixton. They always turn in an excellent set, so this should be a good one. Plus it feels like ages since the last HDIF. So much has happened - not least the wonderful Indietracks festival - so I'm itching to get back to the Canterbury Arms to play all the songs I've been overdosing on in the last month or so.
Indie song of the week: "Don't Go Away" by Talulah Gosh. The highlight of my Indietracks highlight - Amelia and Eithne's five song Talulah Gosh set in the merch tent. I'm really looking forward to dancing to this one.
Soul song of the week: "Higher And Higher" by Dusty Springfield. The song that prompted this singalong in the HDIF tent at Indietracks when the sound cut out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czCkxq3QEuk - I'm looking forward to playing the whole song this time.
