SHRAG
http://www.myspace.com/shrag
“From the first second of the first song you know you are gonna fall head over heels in love with Shrag.” – ROUGH TRADE
“Shrag are a sharp up-and-coming poppy post-punk band smearing their own dark lip gloss on sex and gender.” - PITCHFORK
Brighton based post-punk band Shrag produce lo-fi music with pop hooks, catchy choruses, socially-aware witty lyrics and yelping vocals.
They've recorded a BBC live session for Marc Reilly and played in the US whilst their self-titled debut album received loving praise from the music press. Hand-picked by band-of-the-moment The Pains of Being Pure at Heart to support on a number of recent UK dates, they were also personally chosen by Ryan Jarman to support his band - The Cribs - on their last UK tour. Expect a high energy show from a quintet who makes you smile and dance in equal measure.

“You’ll coming away from their gigs with the feeling you've seen something quite special”- NME
The 3-piece all-girl garage punk rockers return to Reading for the first time this year. They’ve been busy touring the US, Europe and the UK and played the Artrocker stage at the Great Escape festival. Somehow they’ve also found time to record a new album amongst all that.
Their energetic music is full of primal rhythms; melodic bass, cutting guitars and dual lead vocals conjuring a sound that has attracted the attention of NME, Plan B magazine, an Artrocker ‘New Blood’ feature and airplay on 6 Music and Steve Lamacq’s Radio 1 show.
SIXTY WATT BAYONETS
http://myspace.com/sixtywattbayonets
Sixty Watt Bayonets are an exciting, uncompromising, art-punk band from Reading, Berkshire. They merge a powerful female vocal, violent, jagged guitars and pounding drums to great effect.
In less than a year, they've been played on the legendary KROQ-FM radio station in Los Angles, as well as being tipped for the top by Larry Little (ex-the Killers manager). Sixty Watt Bayonets have also been featured in Noise Makes Enemies, URB Magazine's list of ones to watch for 2009 and are releasing their debut EP ‘Pounding hearts, fighting words’ this month.
FULL FORCE GALES
http://www.myspace.com/fullforcegales
Reading’s alt/rock band Full Force Gales features members of the Heartwear Process and are gaining a strong following on the local circuit. They are due to enter the studio with Adam Whittaker (Lily Allen, Mark Ronson) later this year.
