11th July The Kut play at Londons free festival: Lewisham Peoples Day
The Kut have just been confirmed for the 25th Anniversary of London annual festival, Lewisham Peoples Day.
Held in Mountsfield Park, Catford on Sat 11th July, the festival attracts crowds of over 30,000 and is the largest and longest running festival in South East London. And best of all, it's FREE!
Among the confirmed acts for this year are James Taylor Quartet, The Dualers and Harare Dread. The Kut will hit the stage at 5.15pm in 'Rocklands', right before the 5.45pm James Taylor Quartet's show on the nearby Albany Stage. This is fantastic news for the local band who have also recently secured an endorsement deal with Marshall amplifiers, with vocalist and lead guitarist, Maha - having her one of a kind custom guitar amp made especially as we speak. The band has also just been confirmed for their second summer festival appearance at Festa Junina on Saturday 13th June, London. This Brazilian get together will be an excellent warm up for the girls in their lead up to Lewisham People's Day. Currently in the studio recording their debut album 'Lies My Mother Told Me' due for release late this year, the band have been adding some great new tracks to their setlist. Soulful sound with some excellent bass riffs and always silky smooth vocals 9/10 – Rawkstar (USA) Slinky, bluesy and frankly stylish 4/5– Unpeeled Meshes the best of garage, dub, rock and the erstwhile sensibilities of pop to create an original and ear-grabbing sound – Pucknation (USA)
