Cambridge-spawned indie heroes The Shills and Bury St Edmunds' finest smelly bad boys Ten City Nation launch their split 7" and download single in style. And by "style" I mean "the back of a pub". It doesn't get any more awesome than that.
Support comes from The Beautiful Sleazy's dirty sweet rock and roll and The Refuseniks' impassioned, stomping indie.

R*E*P*E*A*T Records release Split Single Featuring The Shills and Ten City Nation
Format : 7' vinyl and download; date June 1st 2009
Underground institution R*E*P*E*A*T Records release the next in their trailblazing set of split seven inch vinyl singles, a series that has helped acts such as Chris T-T, Miss Black America, The Virgin Suicides, Cosycosy, Volunteers and Attila the Stockbroker achieve a certain level of cult celebrity.
Featured on this latest release are The Shills, a bunch of school friends from a nondescript Cambridgeshire village whose antidotes to the dreariness of modern life has been seized upon by Roger Fife (Manic Street Preachers, Tricky, Anthony and the Johnsons) and released nationwide to much raising of eyebrows and shaking of hips.
The flipside features two tracks, as Bury St Edmunds-based Ten City Nation couldn't bear to leave either of them out. Ten City Nation have been quietly developing a name for themselves as a jaw-droppingly intense live band through support slots with similarly like-minded, determinedly left-field eccentrics from Future Of The Left to We Start Fires to Ipso Facto. ‘Silent Disco’ and ‘Flashing Lights’ (both taken from forthcoming long-player ‘At The Still Point’) both demonstrate that the studio has finally found a way to bottle that intensity, sounding simultaneously like every band you’ve ever loved and not quite like anything you’ve ever heard before.
The vinyl is due to be launched with shows in Cambridge and London, and will be available from all good record shops and direct from www.repeatrecords.co.uk from June 1st, which date should also see the digital release of the tracks.
