For our next event on May 24th (Sunday bank holiday) we have secured the talents of Kompakt's Tobias Thomas for an ultra-rare UK appearance.
Tobias Thomas is a member of the inner circle of the Cologne based electronic label Kompakt. As a DJ he holds residencies at Europe's most critically acclaimed clubs, the Panoramabar in Berlin, Robert Johnson in Offenbach, the Low Club in Madrid, and the Total Confusion night in Cologne, which he hosts together with Michael Mayer and Superpitcher. He has released three Mix-CDs, »Für Dich« (1999), »Smallville« (2003) and »Please Please Please« on Kompakt and – with Forever Sweet – the album »Geben & Nehmen« on Ladomat (199. His style ranges from eerie minimal pop music to bumping new beat and hard techno kitsch. We saw him last year at Melt festival at Ferropolis, outside Berlin, and then at the Panoramabar, and we knew he needed to get him over.
Rather than choose a larger venue to house Tobias we have chosen to stick with an intimate 150 capacity loft location in East London. The thinking behind this is that few venues afford the close contact with the dj and unique atmosphere of the location we have secured. It is truly unique. Tickets are available from residentadvisor.net/lostbahnhof, priced at £10. We expect this to sell out well in advance of the event so early purchase is advised. The venue will be made available on www.lostbahnhof.com to ticket-holders on Friday May 22nd.
To warm up for the event we will also be putting on an outdoor party and bbq during the day, featuring Raf Daddy (Greco-Roman), Broader Than Broadway, Cain (Names of Nothing) and Data Transmission, alongside Lostbahnhof residents Benjamin Semtek, James Broomfield and Toby Knight. The warm-up will take place in Lati Ri, next to Cargo on Rivington Place, and should get everyone nicely in the mood for the evening's festivities.
Venue information will be released on Friday March 22nd on www.lostbahnhof.com, and can also be obtained on the day from the FREE Pre-Party + BBQ @ Lati Ri, Rivington Place, 2pm-11pm
