Monkeysuit 3rd Birthday bash - Sat 2nd May @ The Oakford, Reading
Hello
We are celebrating 3 years since our first promoted gig and it's been quite a ride. We would love to see you at our party!
Last year's Birthday party saw The Oakford hit capacity before 8 pm. Let's see if we can make it even earlier this year.
We've booked some of our favourite bands to come and play for everyone. Plus for one night only we present The Oakford dj all stars. Let's make it a night to remember!

THE KABEEDIES

" The Kabeedies , a brilliant new band from Norwich!" - HUW STEPHENS (Radio 1)
"lo-fi indie pop sparkles with mischief, chaos... and so much energy you could stick a straw in them and drink pure Lucazade." - ARTROCKER
"a knack for writing catchy hook laden pop songs that belie they’re years" - GODISINTHETV
We welcome back the pop-punk 4-piece who played for us back in February.
They blew us away last time with their energy and showmanship. We knew we were witnessing something a little special when on that wet Sunday evening. The band got the crowd dancing and even singing along and we can't wait to have them back again!
They have supported the likes of CSS and The Futureheads and gained high profile gigs at Glastonbury and Latitude Festivals on the BBC Introducing stage last year.
They were also invited to record a live session for Radio 1's Huw Stephens at the famous Maida Vale studios, recorded a tv session for Channel M and have received loving applause from Artrocker magazine. A true feel good, party band!
4 OR 5 MAGICIANS

"the sort of lo-fi attack jam that Kurt Cobain would have creamed over" - ROCKSOUND
"lo-fi bedroom fuzz and glorious art-pop melody (think Supergrass meets Shellac)" NME.COM
"Marvellously cynical alt.rock grubbiness. More please!" - THE FLY
Brighton based 4 or 5 Magicians play concise, summery slices of indie-rock reminiscent of Pavement with a Steve Albini-style production edge.
They've toured with Los Campesinos and Johnny Foreigner, and having recently unveiled a selection of rapturously received tracks recorded with Ian Button (Death In Vegas).
The band are due to play the Great Escape festival and are picking up attention from the likes of the NME. Who recently gave a way a free download of their song 'Is this your ideal man?'. A band with a promising future.

OUR HARBOURS
New post-rock band made up of former membesr of much missed Reading band The Defeat. Who will be making their debut for us.
The band currently do not have any music on their myspace but we have no doubts that they'll put on a fine show.
