THE SLEEPING YEARS @ The Electroacoustic Club Wed 8th April
The Sleeping Years will be appearing as a full band at the Electroacoustic Club at The Slaughtered Lamb in London on the 8th April. Formerly of indie darlings The Catchers, Dale Grundle’s new project TSY pays close attention to his Irish roots with a highly personal collection of songs swathed in gorgeous melodies, intelligent lyrics and heart-wrenching melancholy.
Drowned in Sound: 'a record that only Bon Iver's ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’ has really rivalled in recent months. 'We're Becoming Islands One By One' could be remembered as one of 2008's best of its kind in years to come'. 8/10'
BBC: 'beautifully understated... one of Grundle's great strengths is his lyrics'
The Word magazine: 'Grundle is emerging as one of our great off-centre songwriters'
Rock n Reel: 'An extraordinary introduction to a hugely talented artist... exquisite'
Losing Today: 'Tenderly focused, sparsely delivered and exquisitely tailored... 'we're becoming islands one by one' is a moment of refinement and rare beauty. An understated treasure if ever we heard one.'
