Philadelphia's Stinking Lizaveta return! Their new album, ‘Sacrifice And Bliss’ will be out on the 16th of February (on Monotreme).
Stinking Liz (named for a Dostoevsky character) are easily one of the most jaw-dropping live bands you will see. Their albums are great, but until you see them live, you ain’t seen nothing yet! Rock/metal/jazz/stoner/doom/SURF/math power trio with electric guitar, electric upright bass and drums awesome!
They have toured for 10 years with the likes of Don Caballero, Clutch, Mastadon and many others.
Steve Albini is a friend and fan - he recorded their first album in his basement and their last album at his electrical Audio Studio. The new album was recorded by Sanford Parker (Pelican, Rwake, Nachtmystium).

David Grubbs (Drag City)
Louisville, Kentucky-born David Grubbs is a recording artist and writer who has recently completed his tenth solo album: An Optimist Notes the Dusk.
A key figure in the US post punk scene, Grubbs was a founding member of Squirrel Bait (who became Slint), Bastro, and Gastr del Sol (with Jim O Rourke) and he also played and still plays in The Red Krayola and The Wingdale Community Singers and with Will Oldham, Codeine, Matmos and Loren Connors.
It is difficult not to overstate just how important David Grubbs has been to many music scenes since the early 80's innovating and at the very forefront of Post Punk, Slowcore, Math Rock, Alt Country, Quirky Pop and his very own brand of uber-complex, dischordant and deconstructed composition. A true one off!
“One of his most compellingly poetic works – a sober challenge for the daydreamers of today” Dusted on An Optimist Notes the Dusk (Drag City 2008)

Michael L Clamp
www.myspace.com/elclamp
Lazarus Clamp main man, whose band’s 15 year, 5 Album long career has gear-shifted through irascible math-rock, haunting country, quirky pop, ferocious post-punk, and irresistibly purty folky lo-fi. Pioneering a unique wonkilly-elaborate English sound coupled with deep songs of great substance.
Left-handed, upside-down guitar playing North-easterner Michael L. Clamp, has a history of being ahead of the pack…having: played SXSW in 2000 (before it was fashionable), and released an updated cover of a 200-year-old English folk ballad ('Some Rivals') in 2003, a good 3 years before Folk Britannia exploded!
As well as this rare solo show Michael’s full band play the The Silver Rocket Club on April 17th (@ the Buffalo Bar) and are one of the finest British bands, who have played with, and won the respect of Giant Sand, Cat Power, Chris Brokaw, The Mekons, Songs:Ohia, Richard Buckner, The New Year, Thee More Shallows, Laura Cantrell and Black Heart Procession. Perhaps it is about time they won yours.
