David Grubbs (Drag City)
David Grubbs shall play a special Piano and Guitar set for at the wonderful new and really cool 'Cafe OTO' venue in Dalston. May 22
David Grubb was a founding member of Squirrel Bait, Bastro, and Gastr del Sol (with Jim O Rourke). He has also played in The Red Krayola and The Wingdale Community Singers and with lots of legends including Will Oldham.
His music is superbly complex yet poppy and very beautiful and just astonishing to see performed live.
This will be one of the shows of the year! www.myspace.com/davidgrubbsbluechopsticks
Special guests playing a speical 'near a Piano with guitars' set by
Michael L Clamp www.myspace.com/elclamp
Legendary Lazarus Clamp mainman (15 years/5 albums into their career) irracible intellectual songsmith and lefthanded guitar genius, second only to Albini in crazy (dis)chord destruction and scary shouting and unparrelled in the UK for his pretty poppy alt folk material and songwriting.
Former Utopia www. myspace. com/formerutopia
Radio 6/Resonance FM featured East London born, X-Lazarus Clamp bassist is genre defying intelligent song smith as happy skronking out furious post-punk or mortally sad black humoured alt. folk. He has gigged with Chris Brokaw, The Thalia Zedek band, Swell, Mick Turner (Dirty Three) P.W Long and David Grubbs.
