JACK LEWIS & THE FISHERMEN THREE www.myspace.com/jacklewisband Fresh from supporting The Cribs & The Thermals on a UK tour, we're very pleased to welcome a special appearance from Jack Lewis & The Fishermen Three. Jack Lewis, you should all know about...The Fisherman Three play mystical country music and blues of every colour. Simon Beins, member of New York City's weird folk trio The WoWz, writes the songs and plays a few instruments, and Raphi Gottesman provides spiritual guidance, friendship, and percussion. Rosina on Every Balcony, their debut album, was written in between WoWz tours with pals Herman Dune, The Wave Pictures, Turner Cody and Lisa Li-Lund. "A masterful collection of neurotic, ramshackle folk spiked with the bursts of punk" Time Out
AL DUVALL (Brooklyn) - www.myspace.com/alduvall A welcome return one-off London show for Brooklyn’s ukulele king from the Tom Waits school of darkly comic folk… Unique and intriguing live, Al Duvall combines humour, vaudevillian splendour with mischievously good pop hooks. Al has released several acclaimed albums and … "I simply can't do it justice in words. It's kind of old fashioned singing and playing with banjo's kazoos and ukulele that could've been made anytime in the last 100 years. The songs are insanely catchy" Norman Records
Sycamore Smith (Michigan) - www.myspace.com/smithsycamore The first London appearance ever by Sycamore Smith… Used to be one-half of the Michigan folk-punk duo The Muldoons. That band broke up, so now Mr. Smith strums his guitar, blows his kazoo and warbles his tunes all by his lonesome. Lyrics have always been Smith's forte, and his scribblings focus on the gruesomely funny exploits of dip-sh*t characters whose twisted histories unfold over the course of countless interconnected songs. "Smith is truly our state's bard and court jester in one. A boot-stomping, kazoo-blowing meld of Jonathan Richman and Elvis Costello on absinthe, he also formed the original Muldoons, the leading light of the U.P. punk scene of the '80s and '90s" - DETROIT METRO TIMES
Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer – www.myspace.com/mrbthegentlemanrhymer On a one-man mission to introduce Hip-Hop to the Queen's English, Mr. B is delighted to present Chap-Hop. Aiming to dazzle with dignity, Mr. B takes to the stage with his Banjolele and stiff upper lip to perform ditties of pipe-smoking, high society, Cricket and sexual misadventure, as well as some more well-known pieces from the world of Hip-Hop, re-worked in true Chap-Hop fashion. Undisputedly the baddest Edwardian in the music scene today, Mr. B’s unique blend of old-school breaks and period hooks is guaranteed to get any joint jumping. Having enjoyed numerous past successes, including Fatboy Slim’s birthday party, guardian of the gramophone at John Peel’s 60th, penning one of the biggest football songs and spending time as a member 'The Schooner Boys', he has just released his debut album Flattery not Included.
