ACTION BEAT
From: Bletchley, UK
Action Beat are at least 4 guitarists, a bassist, up to 4 drummers and often, a varying array of wind and string instruments, occassionally bringing their live numbers to 14 people! Their demented semi improvised noise rock has seen them tour the length and width of Europe on several occassions, play support slots to bands such as Do Make Say Think, Dälek, Oxes, Health, ZU, Usaisamonster, Bilge Pump, Destructo Swarmbots, OVO and many more, as well as scoring themselves a slot on Southern Records.
Their live set is a volley of unrelenting disco dirge, running through you with such an urgent energy that your forced to nod, shake, jive and sway in time to their every rhythm. The AB assembly however, take it upon themselves to out do even the most frenetic dancer in the energy stakes, placing every last piece of energy into their 30 minutes, like it was their last.
Last time Action Beat played a Holy Smokes night... they were set up in a cafeteria, a mannequin was molested and subsequently smashed by audience members, two Welsh men were tackled and a drunk man played various members guitars when handed to him throughout the set. It was single handedly one of the best things we've ever seen. Lord only knows what to expect this time around...

HEADQUARTERS
From: Brighton, UK
Imagine 'Amplfier Worship' era Boris, mixed with the cold thud of Hey Collossus, but with the groovy demented rock of The Jesus Lizard or Big Black and your in the right biscuit tin. Come on... you know the score!
From the scream/speak vocals through to the fact the bass sounds like it's being slapped rather than strummed, these guys are simply incredible. A looming beast of a band in the live setting, they rarely venture outside of the practice rooms to play to an audience... savouring the ocassions that they do to slap the audiences with a volley of unrelenting, but... dare we say, 'fun' doom rock. YEAH!
If you want to groove like Jackson, but skronk like Albini, this is the band to do it to... and they will NOT disapoint live. Yowzers!

DON VITO
From: Leipzig, Germany
Don Vito are a demented three Piece, bass heavy dirge rock, hailing from Leipzig, Germany. Another frantically touring band, they've been all over Europe countless times, however, this is their first visit to the British isles!
Using vocals more as seperate instruments rather than for singing purposes, their sound is a tight collage of scraped guitar, distorted bass and frantic drumming. Dirty, grimey and always forward thinking, they rarely give you a moment to think, a skill harnessed from their relentless touring, which has brought about a live reputation in mainland europe that's rarely surpassed.
Think Karp, Hunting Lodge, Pleasureboaters and you'd be on the right path. Cant be bad, aye?

P FOR PERSIA
From: Brighton, UK
"We've got to go... BACK to the future Marty"
If you could feed a motorbike through a load of effects pedals, it'd sound like P For Persia... but better.
Wet ya' pallette kid... They skronk, squeel and slam like Rapeman or Arcwelder, and have a Neptune 'Gong Lake' vibe about them too. Their a delicious Appetiser that melds old and new, with a Load Records vibe and a sweaty live show that'll tickle you in all the right places... crikey.
Thanks!
