Crushing Death & Grief: Pifco + Thee Vicars - CAMBRIDGE - 12th Nov
Crushing Death & Grief presents:
PIFCO + THEE VICARS + UNITED SNAKES
Wed 12th Nov @ The Portland Arms, Cambridge
8pm, £4
PIFCO
Pifco are a two-piece from Harehills, Leeds, England, playing raggedly hummable tunes in a Trumans Water / Sonic Youth / The Fall kinda way. Mary relentlessly beats the drums and tinkers catchy electro tunes on the keyboard, while Ste splutters his vocals and picks his Rickenbacker to fill both lead and bass guitar rhythms. A thoroughly wholesome recipe for spear-minting the grunge re-revolution; fresh!
Following on from a bunch of CDRs, a split 7" with Bilge Pump and a cassette release on Chinchilla-Tone, (mostly recorded in their cellar) new album "Pifco-a-go-go" is out now on Run Of The Mill Records, and was Huw Stevens' record of the week not very long ago.

THEE VICARS
Four teenagers from Bury St Edmunds knocking out Nuggets-style garage hits, all ripped on adrenaline. Probably the closest you'll get to watching The Sonics the first time around. Genuinely one of the best live bands in Britain - no-nonsense rock & roll action full of bile and abandon. New album out on Dirty Water Records dead soon.

UNITED SNAKES
Raging, ragged, shouting-in-a-bucket Cambridge blooze-punk.
