There'll be all the usual treats - sweets, balloons, party poppers, DJs playing your favourite tunes, chicken dancing and of course - the BEST new bands.
PLUS we're in the midst of trying to sort out special tricks so watch this space!
SAT OCT 25th: DOORS 8pm
***MERCY ARMS***
Having formed three years ago, this Australian four-piece have toured with the greats like The Strokes and The Pixies and now Ladyhawke and Cut Copy!
They’ve drawn comparison to the classic pop of The Smiths and the noise-guitar mastery of My Bloody Valentine. Get ready for a fresh sound too with unforgettable choruses and shimmering noise, crowned by the poetic voice of singer/writer Thom Moore.
The self titled debut album ‘MERCY ARMS’ is deservingly anticipated as one of the releases of 2008. This is a record to renew our faith in the power of the electric guitar.
***JONJO FEATHER***
With his dark psycho-rock, Jonjo really is the perfect act for our Halloween night.
Songs incorporating dirty guitars, handclaps and slightly haunting melodies, make sure you don't miss this rapidly rising star!
"...he looks and sounds like he could be the test-tube baby offspring of a great orgiastic love-in involving David Bowie and Lou Reed. "I Suppose" is a quick and to the point debut single of scuzzbucket, sensuous fuzz-rock. The chorus is so dangerously attractive, so darkly predatory and rapine, it could be classed as criminal... an utterly distinctive new talent. Fantastic stuff." Leeds Music Scene
***TIM TEN YEN***
Gentle, quintessential Englishman is what the mild mannered extrovert salaryman Tim Ten Yen would place on the plaque of his office door in his own unique order of definition. If you cross a suit, with off-shore pirate pop radio, performance art and an element of Flight of the Conchords, Tim Ten Yen whirls up into one rare and unique treat: a singing salaryman at your front door and not selling anything but charm.
