LAB Records - October 2008 Update
So, we’ve reached that point once again where we have a lot of things going on - and so I’ll try and cover them in an exciting one-sheet.
A NEW LOOK
As is the fashion, we have a wonderful new-look MySpace Profile (www.myspace.com/labrecordsuk) courtesy of our talented friends at ThisIsMacky.com. It should be even easier to learn about, listen to and purchase LAB releases now.
We also have a new-look Webstore (http://labrecords.bigcartel.com) which features a couple of hugely limited edition products. Our first ever LAB Records t-shirt is now back on sale (in limited sizes!), as is the poster print from our Summer label tour.
Since we’re generous and the credit crunch hurts everyone, we keep everything in there as cheap as possible - so please head over and spend a little money come pay day.
THE LAB RECS STARTER PACK
You can now pick up our ‘starter pack’ from the aforementioned store which contains our entire back catalogue to date. That’s four CD’s for the special price of just £5.50 plus postage - pick it up at the webstore link above.
RELEASES
Two of our bands - The Auteur and The Honeymoon Suite - are on the brink of hitting the studio to record their debut LAB releases. The latter go to the brilliant Outhouse Studio in Reading at the start of November to record three long overdue new songs.
Expect The Honeymoon Suite EP in January and The Auteur’s five-track in March. Rob Lynch, or Lost On Campus to his fans, is also demoing for a 2009 release.
Looking back just for a moment, we most recently put out My Actions Your Exit’s three-track EP Colours, which has been available since the end of September. Buy the CD at our Webstore and the tracks on iTunes.
ON THE ROAD
MiMi Soya remain as busy as ever for the end of this year and the start of next, heading out with Lost On Landing (November) and We Have A Getaway (January).
The Auteur are currently very busy with the pre-production of their record but catch them back on the road with Kobe in the New Year, as well as an extended tour schedule once the CD is available.
‘IN THE PIPELINE’
We are, as ever, speaking with a couple of potential new bands and there is also some talk of hooking up with an American label. Stay tuned!
Otherwise, expect a new label sampler CD previewing our 2009 releases before the end of the year, and some other exciting developments around mid-November.
That’s just about all I can think of for now - thanks for reading and please take time to check us out on the sites listed above.
