ARMS AND SLEEPERS

"For anyone looking for a refreshing new change of pace, I have little doubt that Arms and Sleepers could be the stimulus you are looking for." (8/10) -The Silent Ballet
“While listening to Black Paris 86 it is hard to imagine that this is Arms and Sleepers debut full-length. The record itself shows the maturity that other ambient groups only achieve after years of composing and the release of many albums.” (8.6/10) -30music.com

JACOB'S STORIES

Luscious melodies emanated from the various gadgets and keyboard and made his songs sound like melancholic masterpieces. Jacob’s Stories are profound, immense and beautiful. If you do anything this year, you must check him out live and buy ‘Undisciplined Art’. Jacob’s Stories is a truly awesome musical experience.

GNU AND THE SHREW

With a vocal style somewhere between Cerys Matthews and Bjork and lyrical storytelling akin to Morrissey at his best, Gnu and the Shrew stand out like beacon. ?Bingo and Gas Board Fraud are comical slices of reality with minimal instrumentation. There are only a handful of contemporary artists with the talent to strip down to this level and still deliver.?Songs like 1854 are intriguingly crafted with almost ornamental detail. Meticulously created works which avoid any mainstream cliches. Gnu and the Shrew produce a kind of existential music that will prevail and flourish come what may."
