PENNINES
Pennines take from all things 90's emo, so forget your usual emo reference points, and look in the direction of Tim Kinsella's notable guitar sound as a basis for the band's sweeping epics. Punchy without being heavy, and complex without being difficult, the Pennines demo released earlier this year reveals a nourishing sound that grows on every listen. Pennines are set to release a split 7" single with This Town Needs Guns, an EP on the Big Scary Monsters label tour with an increasingly busy schedule later this year. Judge for yourself at their first Cambridge gig.

GOSSAMER ALBATROSS
Probably the best band out of Hereford since Mott The Hoople, Gossamer Albatross play sweet, epic folk-pop in the vein of Neutral Milk Hotel and Beirut. With the band members averaging an age of just 17, the widespread critical praise from music blogs thus far is very promising. Set to release a 7" soon to follow up on their sold-out EP of last year, Gossamer Albatross are fast becoming the rising stars of the British alt.folk scene.

MODEL VILLAGE
No-star London/Cambridge supergroup consisting of members of Econoline, Ripping Yarns, Reynolds, Righteous Bastards, Hey Colossus, Jet Johnson, etc. Sounding like a mix of Aberfeldy, Phyllis Nelson, Teenage Fanclub and Fleetwood Mac this'll be their first gig.
