Leeds Independent Media Exposition(LIME) is an event taking place at the Central Library (The Headrow, LEEDS) in September this year.
It's a celebration of the work of DIY art and music communities in Leeds and it runs from September 4th to 28th.
Here's what's going on!
LIME LAUNCH NIGHT - with 7 Hertz, film screenings, Black Dogs book launch and more (invites only - restrictions on numbers and space basically).
DIY Music Installations by Manifesta and Chinchilla collectives.
EXP24 DIY Camera-less Film Workshop.
Displays by Oblong, Studio 12 and Cloth Cat groups.
An art exhibition entitled 'Scribe'.
SHORT FILM SCREENINGS - various short films, pop videos etc (including work by Eoin Shea, Claire Circuit, Black Dogs, Katie Moore, Kaz Bielecki and more).
PLAYGROUND @ LEEDS ART GALLERY multisensory art and music event for very young people.
A Black Dogs book launch.
STUDIO12 Photography Portraiture Workshop.
'MY LEEDS' Art Workshop by Amy Angus and Joe Simpson.
'DIY CURIOUS' - An exhibition of poster art, photography, paintings, flyers, badges, zines, cds, record-sleeve artwork, t-shirts.
SWAPSHOP - bring along cds, vinyl, artwork, books, etc and swap with others.
MUSIC AND COPYRIGHT: Protect Your Creativity - 1 hour seminar.
RIOT GRRL HERITAGE RUMMAGE - (British Riot Grrl Archive) Julia Downes.
ZINE MAKING WORKSHOP - The Ms Fitz Project.
HTML / CSS WORKSHOP - Oblong.
HOW TO SET UP A DIY RECORD LABEL - Cloth Cat workshop.
LIME CLOSING PARTY - at The Commonplace (w. Printed Circuit, Cowtown, Cissy, Ghost Fleet, plus Funder Strikes, Manifesta and Cissy Tagteam DJs).
There'll be detailed info, dates, times etc on various websites, forums, My Space etc nearer the time. There'll also be lots of posters (with events calendars on them) and flyers dotted around in libraries, public spaces, schools, shops, venues etc.
If you want to get involved in LIME we are looking for invigilation volunteers, people to host workshops, set up exhibition displays, contribute work etc.
