‘Lazarus Clamp’
14 years, 5 albums, 4 bassists, 3 weddings, 4 babies, 2 drummers and one amazing Math Rock/Post Punk/Alt. Folk UK 5 piece playing a rare and very special live show showcasing their recent double album release ‘Death to technicians’/ ‘it ain’t what you do, it’s what it does to you’ just out now on Bearos
'Lazarus Clamp' formed in 1994, Post Punked, Math Rocked and Alt Folked with Giant Sand, Cat Power, Come, Chris Brokaw, Songs Ohio, Richard Buckner, The Mekons, The New Year and many more.
They played at SXSW - in 2000 (before it was fashionable). They released a recording of a 200-year-old English broadside ballad ('Some Rivals') as a single in 2003, successfully foreseeing (and missing) the whole Folk Britannia business by a good two-to-three years. They even pioneered UK Math Rock in the early 90’s, a genre only now deemed cool!
"Lazarus Clamp are one of the minor, undiscovered, rough-cut gems of British independent music." Drowned In Sound.
"Like a Lion Tamer at a cat sanctuary." Drowned In Sound.
"Rather wonderful." The Big Issue.
"Lazarus Clamp post-rock triumphantly." NME.

'Former Utopia'
Possibly, the only indigenous cockney still remaining in East London. He is a genre hopping intellectual sombre songsmith, from furious post punk to quirky black humoured alt. folk. Former Utopia’s bad luck has known no bounds, from singers stepping out before a debut gig never to return, exploding drummers, failed album attempts, to more mortally sad, serious matters and recurring failed love affairs that make Darren Hayman’s love life look peachy creamy. Even in the face of great adversity Former Utopia fearlessly dissects all in his path metamorphosising personal tragedy and trauma into beautiful redemptive honest music.

'Lower Slaughter'
Robert Wyatt meets The Swirlies in this arty intellectual LoFi London Post Punk/Alt. Folk new combo, featuring members of Huw Stephen’s Hellcore favourites Fantaplastic.

'Russell and the wolf choir'
Romford’s only Poet-lovelorn and lovely-sits in-between Geoff Farina, Jason Molina and Kevin Devine. Russell is playing his second only show, so for the sake of his delicate nerves he is doing a 3 song set.
