THEORETICAL GIRL + DIRTBLONDE + THE BACCHAE, LIVE @ KOROVA LIVERPOOL! SAT 10th MAY
LIVERPOOL CALLING is back with an ace line-up, bringing Theoretical Girl to play in Liverpool for the first time.
Unfortunately Sex Education won't be able to perform anymore, so we invited the very ace The Bacchae (from Leeds) to play instead. Check them out!
It means the event will for the first time have a line-up that features female lead singers in all bands! Cool..
LIVERPOOL CALLING takes place on Saturday 10th May @ Korova.
DOORS 8pm
ENTRY £3

THEORETICAL GIRL (& THE EQUATIONS)

Signed to Salvia/ XL Recordings, her new single "Another Fight" has already received some great reviews and is due out on 19th May. Since we played with her a while ago we wanted to bring her to Liverpool, and it's finally happening now!
Ipso Facto used to be her backing band...but she's much better.

DIRTBLONDE
http://www.dirtblonde.co.uk
"[Dirtblonde ]achieve the wonderful result of driving a lot of people away while a small but fierce cluster of disaffected and wonderful looking kids are drawn like bruised moths to a rather guttering candle of venomous wax. Hell savages the security rails with his guitar in the finale and the new fans are in raptures....for the kids who love it this is the real thing, and probably the only dose they’re going to get all weekend." (Whisperin & Hollerin live review)

THE BACCHAE (http://www.myspace.com/thebacchaemusic)
Replacing Sex Education, we got this GREAT new band from Leeds, also for the first time playing in Liverpool.
“A Dirty, skuzzy garage-rock band whose tracks sound like they were actually recorded in a shed in Detroit by Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs. ‘Man’ in particular makes us want to neck a bottle of JD, turn up the stereo and shake it like a Polaroid picture.”- NME
“The Bacchae are doing something very dark and grubby up North and it is a good, good thing. It has attitude, gothic leanings, decadent ambition, literary pretensions and a very sexy sound.” –Mainstream Journal of Aesthetics
“The Bacchae make that rock and roll that is oh so missing in your life right now. “– P.I.X. Magazine
EMILY M.

You should know her! After being part of Automation and Bexy Sitch, Emily M and her band sound more like classic, 90s American alt-rock, and a voice that's reminded us of Kim Deal...
AND COMING SOON:
MONDAY 9th JUNE, LIVERPOOL CALLING @ KOROVA
FEAT.
PRAVDA (http://www.myspace.com/pr4vd4)
France's legendary Electro-punk sleazy duo, who've played with bands such as The Kills, CSS etc.
"Pravda are France’s sexiest export since Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot, but with music combining the strength of Metal and the twirls of supersonic electro. They preach fun with one rule: one finger per chord."
