Fade To Sepia / The Bottle Brunettes / Canvey Island / JC's Flatline Junkies
Andy quirk presents an eclectic mix of the best new talent at Hits of the Near Future @ Catch this month. Indie rock n' roll DJs playing before, between and after.
Birmingham based Fade To Sepia make the trip to Shoreditch, fuzzed guitars and drum machine in hands, to headline tonight's show. Thanks to a string of nationwide and international dates last year the whole world (possibly) is talking about this trio of post Joy Division dark garage rockers.
More than ably supporting are Hits... favourites, The Bottle Brunettes. Gearing up for festivals this summer this indie supergroup (they include former members of Bright Lights and Hicks Milligan Prophecy) look set to be going places.
We liked Canvey Island so much last month we had to get him back when some flakey band or other dropped out. Using samplers and an array of live instruments this very talented one man music machine builds up his sound layer by layer until you could swear you were listening to an eight piece band. Captivating.
JC's Flatline Junkies open the show with some very agreeable blues tinged rock. Playing festivals this summer and tipped as one to watch out for on the Glastonbury Festival hot new bands list (alongside Ting Tings, Pigeon Detectives and Vampire Weekend!) they're certainly worth arriving early for.
