PLAYING LIVE!
VELOFAX are a band who lay claim to fusing elements of post-punk with experimental krautrocking disco funk. This concoction has charmed many, including XFM's John Kennedy and Steve Lamacq, from whom they've received airplay, as well as the likes of Datarock, Clor and New Young Pony Club, who have all personally handpicked the band to support them. And anyone who saw them at Laissez Faire at The Luminaire in May will know they're simply unmissable live. With their debut album just released on Maven Records, 2008 ought to watch out.
South London quintet and LFC regulars POKER FACE/D fuse indie, rock, reggae and blues with dramatic, widescreen effects - something which has lead to support slots with The Maccabees, The More Assured and Eight Legs, as well as regular appearances at the venerable Shanks Discotheque club night in Brixton.
Newly formed, THE COLLECTABLE FEW peddle in edgy, anxious, vital and exciting new wave / post punk, informed by all the right names - JD, Cure, Echo & The Bunnymen. The distinct buzz surrounding them at the moment coupled with their sharp musicianship and instantly memorable tunes point to a very bright future indeed.
