London! fabric Thurs 22nd Nov Oberon
At the opening night of OBERON, cult New York artist John Jodzio will create a magical installation featuring his characteristic topsy turvey cityscapes populated by cats, leopards and hoardings that run riot with the American Dream. Using a combination of projections, life size figures and hand painted installations, Jodzio will transform FABRIC into a wild fantasy landscape. Providing the musical accompaniment is New York legend Anita Sarko. Sarko, the original New York DJ invented an exciting and eclectic style of DJing at the now infamous Studio 54. Since the 1980’s, Sarko has continued to set trends, both through her extraordinary DJing career (she played Andy Warhol’s Funeral!) and her regular contributions to Interview Magazine. Anita Sarko will be supported by DJ sets from London club land Kingpins Severino and Jim Stanton, bringing you a party that is guaranteed to keep you dancing late into the night.
Fred Mann has flown Anita Sarko in from New York for the night and comments:
“The best nights I have ever spent in a club have been listening to Anita Sarko DJ, she is an amazing lady and I can’t imaging launching my first club with out her!”
