Hope you are well. It's Team PopCult calling. As we all know In The City is coming. We have been asked by the lovely folks at ITC to put together a special issue of the PopCult zine for the weekend, which we are going to use to say lots of nice things about all the cool stuff in Manchester. Basically, we want to say that the city is full of music, people and places so that 'the big wigs' see that Manchester is more than just The Midland and whatever official gigs are going on.
On top of going into around 1500 delegate bags we are going to have 400 copies out across Manchester over the weekend, so we will be getting into the hands of the real people too.
Knowing that you folks are lovely, we were wondering if you would be interested in getting involved with the zine to help us get out the word about all the great things going on in Manchester. We want to talk about local promoters and bands, all the things that kind of get lost when a big 'international event' comes to town. We think that this kind of thing is what you guys would be interested in, so we thought we'd drop you a line about advertising. We have half page (A6) adverts and full page (A5) adverts available at competitive prices . This is a really great opportunity to get the word out about you gig/records/shop/label to thousands of people, including all the movers and shakers of the A+R world.
So, let us know if you want to be involved. As we said we are doing this to get the word out about real people from Manchester, rather than towing the kind of line that a+r and industry types are going to see all of the time. That is why we are asking people who have a similar view of supporting local music.
