Three very different brands of noise, all rooted in the highly respectible genre of maxifun!

TALIBAM! is Matt Mottel and Kevin Shea from New York, workhorses totalling 6 different albums released this year (Azul Discografica, Pendu Sound Recordings, Blackest Rainbow, Gaffer Records, MT5 TAPES!, No=Fi Recordings, as well as previous stuff on Kitty Play and Ecstatic Peace)!
Ornette Coleman playing on Soft Machine's Fourth in hell... Talibam!'s brand of shitstorm skronk is grounded in more intelligent thought and dynamic group exchange than many of the more hyped transmissions from the contemporary American 'noise' underground. - Tiny Mix Tapes
The music matches the mania of the packaging perfectly as the duo let loose a …blast of sonic sludge that gleefully destroys everything in it's path, as if on a mission. - Edwin Pouncey, The Wire
Agro-improv troupe Talibam! will surely harsh your mellow. A cross between noise-rock, free-jazz and unabashad fuckeduppedness, Talibam! is audio terrorism at its most playful - Chris Weingarten, Village Voice
Matt Mottel has been dropping electric mind bombs with his synthesizer in New York clubs for several years, involved with the likes of Awesome Color, Deerhunter, Akron/Family, Kenny Wollesen, Chris Corsano, Ras Moshe, Cooper-Moore, Sean Meehan, and his new band Shadow Maps.
Kevin Shea's drumming and stage gymnastics have been gazed at with wide wonder through his membership in bands like Storm & Stress (Touch & Go), Coptic Light (No Quarter), People (I and Ear), Peter Evans Quartet (Firehouse 12), Sexy Thoughts (rcarchives.com), Mostly Other People Do The Killing (Hot Cup), etc.

Freewheeling dysfunctional big beat drums! Cosmic keys! Mind controlling tone generators! Limb shaking guitars! Shifted sax! Jazz lounge with uncomfortable sofas! Broken R'n'B! Calypso played naked in the fridge-freezer! Euphoric knees-up! Psychedelic forays into wonk pop! Fresh faced fortune tellers! Tear jerkers! Motivational speakers! One Love Revivalists!
"Ah, you sweet little rogue, you! alas, poor ape, how thou sweatest! Come, let me wipe thy face; come on, you whoreson chops: ah, rogue! i'faith, I love thee: thou art as valorous as Hector of Troy, worth five of Agamemnon, and ten times better than the Nine Worthies" (King Henry IV, part II: II, iv Shakespeare).
Forthcoming releases include a split 12" on Upset! The Rhythm with someone as yet unknown, and a split DVD with Talibam! on Chinchilla-Tone. Their faces are also seen in popular beat combos such as Quack Quack, I Had An Inkling ([EYE HAI), Sense Or This?, Massive Heron, etc.

With a practically sold out 7" on Golden Lab Records, and a totally sold out split 7" on Bloodloss, Cowtown are about to release an album on Chinchilla-Tone (CD), Golden Lab (Vinyl) and Catmobile (Online).
Delectable chunks of angular no/new-wave noisy pop played by people who clearly know what they're on about (their other bands include Tigers!, Brown Owl, Beards, G-Fang, The Dragon Rapide, Monster Killed By Laser, etc). When people talk about Cowtown songs, they always go 'I like the one with the Hard Days Night chord at the start, and the one that goes, 'Deneh! Deneh! Deneh-duh-duh! Deneh! Deneh-duh duh!'. A sound that touches upon Devo, The Beatles, Deerhoof and Link Wray, this is the juiciest piece of summer fruit you'll taste all year, even if they have been frozen ready for consumption in late November... but it'll come topped with the cream of newly added bonus vocals, from Ste (Pifco).

We hope to be able to cover the fuel costs, contribute to Talibam's airfare from the States and put some money towards the tour van, so we're looking to get something like £150-£250 a night, which I think sounds reasonable? Also, there will be 5 of us with hungry bellys, so if it's possible to feed us some vegan and veggie meals they would go down a treat! Some space for weary heads to sleep would also be highly appreciated!
