HEALTH
A quartet from Los Angeles, Health take inspiration from 60's British pop, Krautrock, gamelan, noise and minimalism, creating some of the crunkiest free rock around. Following various releases for the likes of DNT and Lovepump United, two split vinly releases with Crystal Castles and EYE HAI will hit stores over the summer on UK-based labels Trouble and Golden Lab respectively.

I HAD AN INKLING/EYE HAI
EYE HAI are plummeting towards cacophonic oblivion at an ever-increasing rate. Gone is the spiked, acid-tongued no-wave pop of old, due in large part to the band's physical fragmentation across different parts of the UK. Moz from Quack Quack and CHOPS lays the beats, hides the 1, and chases the undanceable dance rhythms. Bassist Dan Carney has taken to switching between his bass and a trombone. Nick Mitchell switches between his guitar and his clarinet. Improvisation and a saxophone player in the form of Dom Clare (CHOPS/Sense Or This?) has found EYE HAI serving up an array of idiot-savant-garde jazz, pushed even further into obscurity with the occasional addition of Andrew Stavely (Inecto School) on bass trumpet, trumpet and french horn. A singed Mahavishnu. A frayed Charles Mingus. If anything, they might now sit more (un)comfortably alongside Zu, Volcano The Bear, The Flying Luttenbachers and This Heat than, as they once did, The Fall or Essential Logic.
Forthcoming split 12" with HEALTH on Golden Lab Records, and another 12" split with NEPTUNE on Save Your Wisdom Teeth Records.
